Different materials. Deeper functions.

Industrial felt,
engineered to fit.

We make felt and nothing else — wool, synthetic and specialist fibre — for polishing, fire resistance, sealing, acoustics, filtration and thermal work. Send a drawing, an old sample or a performance target, and we will build the sheet that meets it.

Wool felt polishing discs and wheels

Core product · F-01

Polishing felt that holds its edge.

Polishing is a density problem before it is a shape problem. We press our own wool felt, so we can hold a consistent hardness through the whole run — and cut the wheel, bob or disc geometry you actually mount.

  • Wheels, bobs, discs, belts and sheets — solid or laminated
  • Bore, diameter and thickness cut to your spindle or fixture
  • Density and surface finish matched to metal, glass or optical work
  • Optional abrasive charging and backing plates on request

Pre-oxidized PAN felt resisting a direct flame

Core product · F-02

Felt for heat, flame and the space between.

Two routes to heat resistance: flame-retardant wool felt where you need a soft, formable barrier, and pre-oxidized PAN or carbon fibre felt where the temperature and the spec are both unforgiving.

  • Fire-retardant wool felt for seals, gaskets and thermal barriers
  • Pre-oxidized PAN felt — non-melting, self-extinguishing behaviour
  • Carbon fibre felt for high-temperature and inert-atmosphere use
  • Grades matched against your target standard before sampling

Custom manufacturing

We are set up for the awkward jobs.

A large part of our business is reverse customisation: a buyer sends us a sample, a drawing or a failed part from another supplier, and we work backwards to a felt that behaves correctly. Fast sampling, quick answers, flexible on material and thickness.

01

Send the brief

A sample, a drawing, a photo with dimensions — or just the application and the conditions it has to survive.

02

Material matching

We shortlist fibre, density, thickness and finish against your requirement, and tell you what will and will not work.

03

Sampling

Physical samples for fit, feel and bench testing, so the decision is made on material rather than on a datasheet.

04

Approval

Signed-off sample becomes the production reference for density, thickness, colour and cut.

05

Production

Needle-punch, finish, slit, die-cut, laminate or add adhesive — then pack to your carton requirement.

Where we are useful

Industrial applications and specialised fields — including work that ends up in aerospace supply chains — where the felt is a functional component rather than a decoration. If your part has to seal, damp, absorb, insulate or polish, it is in our range.

About DeeFunz
Infographic of the needle-punched felt process: opening and blending, carding, cross-lapping, needle-punching, finishing, slitting and rolling

From fibre to finished felt

Six stations, mechanically bonded.

Opening and blending, carding, cross-lapping, needle-punching, finishing, then slitting and rolling. Because the felt is bonded by fibre entanglement rather than a chemical binder, density and thickness are set on the line — which is what makes true customisation possible.

Documentation

Papers you can put in a supplier file.

Our Nangong production base holds a certified quality management system and has been audited for social compliance. Test reports are available for material properties on request, and we will tell you plainly when a requirement needs third-party testing before we quote.

  • ISO 9001 quality management system certification
  • BSCI social compliance audit summary
  • Third-party material test reports on request

Before you write

Questions buyers ask first.

What is your minimum order quantity?

It depends on the product and the amount of customisation. Standard sheet and roll materials start lower than die-cut, laminated or self-adhesive parts, because those carry tooling and set-up. Tell us the item and the annual volume and we will give you a straight MOQ rather than a generic one.

Can you match a sample we already have?

Yes — this is the core of how we work. Send the sample with the dimensions and the conditions it has to survive. We identify fibre type, density and thickness, produce a matched sample, and only move to production once you approve it.

How long does sampling take?

Sampling is deliberately kept short and is run in parallel with the quotation. Exact lead time depends on whether the material already exists in our range or needs a new blend. We confirm the schedule with the quotation so you are not chasing it.

Do you supply test reports or certificates?

Material property test reports can be arranged. Where a project needs certification against a specific standard — fire, automotive, acoustic — tell us the standard at enquiry stage so we can confirm feasibility before you commit to a design. We do not claim a certification we do not hold.

Start with a sample

Send the part. We will send the felt.

Drawings, photos, old samples and rough specifications are all fine. Tell us the application and the conditions, and we will come back with a material recommendation and a price.
